For the Love of Christ!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

14\u00a0<\/sup><\/em><\/strong>For Christ\u2019s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all,<\/em> and therefore all died.\u00a015\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live<\/em> for themselves\u00a0but for him who died for them\u00a0and was raised again.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve heard of different types of compulsions springing from various mental health issues, most of them negative!… there are compulsive gamblers, compulsive drinkers, compulsive robbers, compulsive eaters, compulsive spenders <\/em>or due to the current COVID-19 threats, <\/em>even compulsive handwashers <\/em>and compulsive sanitizers! <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Paul shows that not all \u201ccompulsion\u201d is evil. There can be \u201cgood compulsions\u201d. In the passage quoted above, he talks about Christ\u2019s Love as the positive motivating force<\/em><\/strong> that urges him to do what he does for the Kingdom of God!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus, moved by the same love, went all the way to the cross! Missionaries and Martyrs through the centuries, have left home, safety, comfort \u2013 and yes, faced death \u2013 because of this compulsion! Paul, now compelled by this love, knew full well how it was to serve from a different compulsion – as a Pharisee, he used to be motivated by Self (self-promotion, self-preservation and self-righteousness)! What a difference the Love of Christ can make in someone\u2019s life and service!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are not motivated by Christ\u2019s Love… what compels you? Is it…<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 GUILT<\/span><\/em><\/strong>… that you\u2019re not \u201cpaying for your sins and shortcomings\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 PRIDE<\/span><\/em><\/strong>… that you desire prominence to promote yourself?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 FEAR<\/span><\/em><\/strong>… that somehow you do not measure up? or somehow \u201cmissing out\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No matter how you got here, know this: you can put your heart in the place today where you can say, <\/em><\/strong>\u201cI am compelled by Christ\u2019s love!\u201d <\/em><\/strong>Come to Jesus \u2013 come clean \u2013 and He will give you a fresh motivation… even a fresh heart!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
