{"id":447,"date":"2022-06-04T02:45:05","date_gmt":"2022-06-04T02:45:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/winseattle.org\/?p=447"},"modified":"2022-06-04T02:45:05","modified_gmt":"2022-06-04T02:45:05","slug":"june-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/winseattle.org\/?p=447","title":{"rendered":"June 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-accent-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\"><em><strong>The Camel thru the Eye of the Needle<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\" style=\"letter-spacing:px\"><em>\u201cAgain&nbsp;I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\" style=\"letter-spacing:px\"><em>for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp;(Matthew&nbsp;19:24)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rich young ruler sincerely wanted to know what else he needed for eternal life. We &nbsp;know from the rest of the gospel story that he went away sad and disappointed. Even as, Matthew\u2019s narration says, he was obedient and devout even when he was a boy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bible scholars have debated Jesus\u2019 intention during this encounter and Matthew\u2019s purpose for narrating it. Moreover, they were debating what really was <em>\u201cthe eye of the needle\u201d<\/em> and why does a camel pass through it?! Was that really a problem? What does it mean?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The problem wasn\u2019t the eye or the needle or the camel or the riches!&#8230; lest we get off-track! <strong><em>The real issue was that the young ruler wasn\u2019t ready to give up all his riches to follow Jesus!<\/em><\/strong> His attachment to his great wealth made it difficult to let go!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So,&nbsp;what is your <em>\u201ccamel thru eye-of-needle\u201d<\/em> dilemma? That thing you can\u2019t quite give up for Jesus?&#8230; That attachment that hinders full obedience &amp; surrender to God\u2019s lordship?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sooner you identify it, the sooner you can ask the Holy Spirit to help you develop a healthy detachment to it! In Christ, an open hand accompanies an open heart \u2013 fully surrendered, fully obedient, fully committed! Here\u2019s a good prayer for this week&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\"><em><strong>\u201cLord of My Life, remind me to always be prepared to give up anything You\u2019ve given me in favor of Your blessing and Your direction. Help me to trust that what You have in store for me is far better than what I have planned out for myself.\u00a0I praise you Name, Jesus.
