Who Holds the Key to Your Heart?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said to him, <\/em>\u201cYou still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven. Then come, follow Me.\u201d<\/em> (Luke 18:22)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGood teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?<\/em> The rich young ruler came to Jesus with this question, resulting in Jesus\u2019 response in our verse above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus understood this young Jewish checklist-mindset\u2026 He first names some of the 10 Commandments\u2026 a list that the young ruler felt he had kept well. But then Jesus adds: \u201cYou still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We might think that Jesus was simply talking about money or addressing wealthy folks who have money… But the words in this conversation are for every single one of us!<\/u><\/em> The core issue Jesus was getting at is this: SURRENDER<\/strong><\/em>.Therefore, the crucial question should be: <\/em>Who holds the key to your heart?<\/strong><\/em> <\/em>It\u2019s not in checking every box of some heavenly \u201cto-do list\u201d or performing perfectly in your ethics course \u2013 <\/em>it\u2019s having a fully surrendered heart <\/strong><\/em>that ultimately matters to Jesus.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJesus, today  I am handing You the key to my heart. You are not just my Savior \u2013 You are my Lord! Be in control of everything in my life. I want to follow You and please You in everything I do. In Your  Name, I pray –  Amen.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
