Devotional Reading: I John 4:7-21
“God loves you!” we are told in church every week. It’s so often repeated, it’s in danger
of losing its potency!… NOT that it’s truth is diminished – but that we become numb to
its power, or grow unaffected by its impact! Here are two (2) aspects of God’s Love
that we should never forget:

1 – God’s Love for you isn’t caused by something in you or around you – it is ALL on
Him!… His unchanging attributes! While we were still living in sin, Christ died for us
(Rom.5:8) We didn’t earn His love, and we can’t hinder it! God loves you because He is
God and He is Love!

2 – God’s Love is eternal. There’s nothing that can separate us from His love for us in
Christ Jesus! (Rom.8:39) He chose us before the foundation of the world (Eph.1:4) and
therefore assured that His care is there – and will always be there… for eternity!

We can absolutely trust God and His love! Jesus demonstrated that love by dying for us
and saving us from sin. He promises to stay and redirect us when we stray! Whether or
not we feel it, God’s faithful Love surrounds and protects us.
